What is Food Alchemy?

 I used to have a career as a chef. Like many in this high-stress environment, I experienced burnout more than once. I decided to apply my expertise in food and cooking in a more nourishing way. I began to teach women how to live according to their cycles and attuned to their bodily wisdom. A key practice in this is food alchemy.


Food alchemy is a holistic approach to nutrition that recognizes the interconnectedness of our bodies, minds, and the natural world. It teaches us to use food to nourish and heal ourselves from the inside out. It encourages us to listen to our bodies, use food as medicine, and honour the act of eating. 


Food alchemy involves a deep understanding of the energetic properties of different foods and how they can affect our physical and emotional well-being. In food alchemy, foods are categorized based on their energetic qualities, such as heating or cooling, drying or moistening, and expanding or contracting. Combining foods with complementary energies can create balanced and harmonizing meals that support our health and vitality.


Food alchemy also involves an awareness of seasonal and local foods, and how they can support our well-being throughout the year. By eating foods that are in season and grown in our local environment, we can tap into the earth’s natural rhythms and support our bodies in adapting to the changing seasons.


We can focus on two different areas depending on your needs:


  • Embodied cooking: if you would like to develop cooking skills and improving your organization to be less stressed, eat better, and do it with fun and more efficiency.
  • Embodied eating: if you are more in need to improve your relationship with food. This will help you to eat more mindfully, find pleasure in eating, slow down and stop using food to numb yourself.
